More appointments available for Nettlebed Surgery patients
Our patients now have better access to a doctor at the weekends and in the evenings. Neighbouring practices and Nettlebed Surgery, working together, have developed a new service and have extended their opening hours so that more patients can benefit from national GP Access funding (GPAF). Local surgeries take part in offering these services on a rota basis.
The aims of the service remain the same; patients requesting a booked GP appointment at Nettlebed Surgery, may be offered an appointment at a nearby location, with a local GP or nurse who has access to their medical records.
This provides more appointments for patients during the day, the evenings and at weekends.
What does this mean for you? There is no change in the booking process for appointments, just call reception as usual. You may be offered an appointment during normal or extended hours at a neighbouring practice location.
Appointments are available in our usual working hours (8.30 – 18.30), evenings up to 20.00 and also on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
PLEASE NOTE: These appointments will be aimed at routine care and are NOT for emergencies or walk-in appointments. They do not replace the 111 urgent care service. Urgent, emergency and walk-in appointments continue to be covered by 111. Also, if you require an urgent GP appointment when the surgery is closed then you still need to call 111.
In addition to the above Nettlebed Surgery has increased its GP and nurse appointments by one session each per week. Our aim is to maintain our excellent patient access, and allow us to continue to offer same day access for patients with clinically urgent problems, and to offer appointments within 7 days to those patients who require routine care.
